Bachelor of Arts


(General / Honours)
Three Year Degree Course

The Bachelor of Arts (General / Honours) shall cover a period of three academic years and shall be in the first year of study as B.A (General / Honours), Part-I, in the second year study as B.A. (General / Honours), Part-II and in the third year study as B.A. (General / Honours), Part-III course.



Oualification for Admission
  1. 1. A student may be admitted to the course of the degree of Bachelor of Arts (General / Honours) if he/she has passed the intermediate or equivalent examination of a recognized Board / University.

  2. 2. For admission to Honours course in any subjects it shall be necessary for a students to have obtained not less than 45% marks at the intermediate examination I the subjects concerned. A students passing intermediate examination of Science and Commerce is eligible for admission to Honours course in any subjects he/she has passed I.Sc., I.Com examination securing not less than 45% marks in the aggregate (Except practical subject).


Subject For B.A (General)

A candidate for the B.A. (General) course shall be required to offer three optional subjects as composition, and one paper as general studies. In all there shall be 12 papers as in the tables given overleaf:

Composition
A Candidate can choose (a) or (b) for composition :

HINDI – One full paper of 100 Marks for each of the Part-I and Part-II examination.
HINDI – 50 Marks for Non-Hindi Students :
Mother Tongue – 50 Marks (Anyone of the following languages cab be offered) Bengali, Oriya, Urdu, Maithili and alt. English.

A candidate shall not choose Mathematics or Geography unless he has passed intermediate Examination Mathematics or Geography Honours.

Note: The College conducts honours course in the Following Subjects : History, Political Science, Economics, Sociology, Psychology, Geography, English, Hindi, Urdu, Oriya, Bengali and Philosophy



Subject For B.A (Honours)

A candidate for the B.A. (Honours) course shall be required to offer honours in one subjects comprising 8 papers, two subsidiary subjects 4 papers, languages as composition comprising two papers and one paper as EVS in all, there shall be 15 papers divided in 5 papers for each part of the course as in the table given below :

Composition

Bachelor of Commerce


(General / Honours)
Three Year Degree Course

The Bachelor of Commerce (General / Honours) shall cover a period of three academic years and shall be in the first year of study as B.Com. (General / Honours), Part-I, in the second year study as B.Com. (General / Honours), Part-II and in the third year study as B.Com. (General / Honours), Part-III course.



Qualification for Admission
  1. 1. A student may be admitted to the course of the degree of Bachelor of Commerce (General / Honours) if he/she has passed the intermediate examination of a recognized Board / University.

    A student who has passed to the intermediate Examination in Arts or Science shall also be eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Commerce (General) course if he/she has obtained a minimum of 45% marks in the Aggregate in the I.A. or I.Sc. Examination.

  2. 2. A student may be admitted to the course of the degree of Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) if he/she has passed the intermediate examination of a recognized Board / University obtained not less then 45% marks in the Commerce subjects. Subject concerned or in an allied subjects as determined by the academic council in case the subject was not prescribed for study at the intermediate level.

    A student who has passed to the intermediate Examination in Arts or Science shall also be eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) course if he/she has obtained a minimum of 45% marks in the Aggregate in the I.A. or I.Sc. Examination.


Subject For B.Com (General)

A candidate for the B.Com. (General) course shall be required to offer eight Commerce subjects/group of subjects language as composition and EVS. In all, there shall be 12 papers as in the tables given below :
